Ever wonder how a mint julep cup is made? It begins as a completely flat disc of pewter. This process is called metal spinning and it is only one part to making a mint julep cup! Design elements will be added, a base will be soldered on, and the whole cup will be hand polished to a mirror finish. Scroll through the photos to see a julep cup getting ...Read more of post

In honor of the upcoming Preakness Stakes, here's a little bit of history about the Maryland Julep Cup! Maryland has been home to many talented craftspeople. As a matter of fact, it is still home to the talented craftspeople here at Salisbury! There's just one week left until the Kentucky Derby! It's time to share our favorite julep variation: The Iced Tea Mint Julep. Muddle 2-3 mint leaves gently in the bottom of your julep cup. Add 1/2 ounce mint-infused simple syrup, 2 ounces of bourbon and fill cup to the top with ice. Add iced tea until full, garnish with a mint sprig, and enjoy the cold, refreshing goodness!

The cup’s straight body lines and graceful moldings at the base and rim are typical of designs they used. Kentuckians have been giving, receiving, and using the cups of these designs for over 100 years. It is a favorite for weddings, ...Read more of post

As Thanksgiving is coming soon, it's time to plan out your tablescape. We love to mix and match our metals with other items to create a stunning, eye-catching for the big feast! Here we used a Chippendale tray as a charger, an ivory Isabella plate from Skyros Designs, and a 4" Revere bowl for the setting. We dressed up the table with an herb-filled julep cup and a fruit-filled Images of America bowl. Your guests will love it!
